i propagate E. quads all the time. I have gotten to the point where i can cut a big one into 4 and all survive. I have had a 100% success rate propagating over 26 e. quads so far. I wont try a carpet though

I've never intentionally divided them (with a razor) but have had one go through the closed loop and two pieces survived. How small do you generally cut them, or better yet how small can they be and still have viable divisions?

Would you be willing to provide a photo essay on the process next time you do it?

Here's how i do it. With smaller anemones i will only cut in half. I get a cutting board and sterilize it with alcohol, i sterilize the exacto knife with scalpel blade, and i sterilize my hands. Place the anemone on the cutting board (deflated) and move all the tentacles out of the path of your cut. Start by placing scalpel inside the mouth cutting outwards i make sure not to cut any tentacles, but i do not see any difference if one is cut off (but the less stress the better) Turn the cutting board around and do the same to the other side of the anemone. Now you have 2 equal size anemones. I have the small breeder nets that you get from petsmart or similar store and i place them in there. You need gentle but good flow. Just like an elegance coral (enough to move the tentacles) By the end of the day they should be attached and possibly started to inflate. Give them 2 weeks before transferring to display tank and 1 month before cutting again.

next week i will have 2 or 3 coming in and i will take pics and a possible video of my techniques
