well the DIY juices are flowing, latest addition is a cartridge for whatever you need. I use mine to block micro bubbles and prevent algae, gunk, sediment from getting to my return pump.
Materials
1 section of plastic wall edging (for drop ceiling applications)
pair of alum. snips or scissors
filter floss material
1 section of egg crate
measure the size you want the overall cartridge to be and cut your eggcrate to the nearest size, I always round down on this project, since eggcrate is difficult to cut to exact size.
then cut your wall edging on the two sides only (don't cut the bottom)
so you are cutting the two sides so the edging will wrap around the eggcrate but not cutting the bottom portion of the eggcrate.
continue on through like this until you have wrapped your edging around the eggcrate.
once you have created a box, you can easily remove or replace your eggcrate.
Next step is to add filter floss to either or both sides of the eggcrate.
there you have it. Now your box will not stay completely closed but a rubber band will do the trick. You could glue it but then you could never replace the eggcrate. I like to be able to clean out the eggcrate once in a while.
Good luck
total time 15 minutes or less
