Anonymous poll....
I'm trying to raise awareness. Please answer honestly. How many host anemones have died under your care since you started in this hobby?

None isn't an option darn, I don't have enough light power to care for an anemone so I haven't lost any, but I haven't had one either.

That wouldn't really count then if you haven't had any. The point of the thread is to get people to consider exactly what you're doing and think twice before laying down money that will ultimately be wasted not to mention take another host off the reef.
I am one of the worst offenders. I have probably killed 10-15 in the last 11 years.
I have also propagated enough RBTAs to make up for about half of that. With current technology and general knowledge I think BTAs are the responsible way to go if I must have an anemone. Most clowns will go in them in captivity.

Unfortunately, most of these were due to poor handling during shipping, the rest wandering casualties by the powerhead "eater"

I have lost them to powerheads too, but I only ever lost one to my closed loop. I did get two RBTAs out of one that went through once though.

If you have not lost any, tell us what kind you have and how long you have had them.
Thanks,
Walt
