The wire?
OK so there's this thing I find mildly amusing. If I'm in MD and I have a FedEx package shipped from LAX to BWI it's usually gonna run about $150 door to door. If I pay $225 for a leuc coming out of CA, I look at it as me paying $150 for shipping and $75 for the fish. Also there's two reasons that I have the selection of clowns that I do. One is networking and constant involvement. The other is that I do not hesitate when something pops up that I want.
When I saw the first leuc about 4-5 years ago at the DC MACNA conference, I was on the guy at that booth like flies on brown stuff. He said he wouldn't sell it till Sunday. I was literally the first attendee to walk through the doors at the convention on Sunday morning.
The bottom line is that if you truely want them, you cannot hesitate when the opportunity arises. I have also sold three of the seven leucs I have come in possession of. Maybe I just want these fish more than other people do. Latezonatus leucokranos and thiellei were the three clowns that I found most interesting when I first got into the hobby. I am thrilled that I have been lucky enough to acquire all of them. There are a couple others that I now have my eyes on but I really don't see myself finding them any time soon. Who knows, maybe someone will come out of the woodwork one day and throw me a bone....
It's happened before.
