stringy white poop
Just bought a pair of occy's this pair was in an established tank for 3 yrs and then traded to LFS and then purchased by me.
Obivously the clowns were clean but I think they may have picked up some diseases from the lfs.
I say this because they have been in my qt for 24 hrs and haven't eaten and have white stringy poop. I have methyl blue on hand, will this work to kill what I need killed or should I treat otherwise.
please advise

Many times the stringy white poop you describe can be from not eating enough. If you can get them to start eating, it may go away. This happens sometimes when fish are shipped or transferred a couple of times and the stress has caused them to miss a few meals. Just a thought, but maybe try to get them eating something and have a look before medicating.

48 hrs and still not eating. I've tried spectrum one pellet and frozen hikari mysis. nothing. They seem to otherwise be fine. I'm beginning to become concerned. This is a new qt tank that I set up just 2 days before

Oh thanks for the comment Matt, learn something new. I was thinking it's the typical bacterial infection or internal parasite.
I was receiving some fish from certain hatchery (not Matt's) and always have some white feces, so I was thinking that those guys sucks all along ... tank raised fish have internal parasites LOL Guess not :)

I'd try live brine shrimp or black worms next.

Start hatching some baby brine shrimps, those are easy to come by. Live Black worm is useful but those are not to use for long term.
If you are watching them in QT, use Vitamin B12, it encourages eating. Marine fish are also easily stressed by small tanks, what size QT are you using for the pair? I would assume at least a 10G or bigger.
Let's see a pic.

I'm using a 29 gal pretty bare with a sponge filter and a 4" clay pot. I'm doing a 50% water change in a few minutes hopefully that will help

sponge filter is seeded I assume, another thing you can try is to do water change with established reef system water (assuming you know the source is clean).
