WHOOO HOO - another new species successfully spawned (and fertilized too!) added to the list...

Synchiropus picturatus - I've thought there were spawns going on for months but could never find the proof (eggs). I may have simply not bee waiting late enough into the night...they spawned almost 2 hours after lights out!!! That video and photo sequence is one of the best I've seen. Just great info there.

Cool to watch, not sure the Mandarins enjoy me watching though :).

Adding on another species, or at least another "Variety" today, with another first time spawning:

Amphiprion ocellaris - I purchased this particular pair as a spawning pair that was taken from a large reef where they were under constant attack from much larger fish...it took a bit over 2 months for them to settle in and spawn once I got them...pretty fast in my book considering they spent some time in quarantine before being moved into the main tank! Awesome, I've heard the dragonets are hard to raise though.

Here is a book that should help you.
