We haven't shipped outside of the United States yet, although we are working on Europe and South America. I am not sure what would be involved in sending fish to South Africa though, as we have not studied it. You do have some interesting fishes along the coasts though!

If it just fits snuggly, any problem with it accidentaly being bumped or otherwise coming out and then draining the tank with Babies et al??
Part numbers / SKU and where to obain completed standpipe, please?

The standpipe shown above is simply glued using PVC solvent into a bulkhead (slip fitting). Bulkheads can be found at most local shops or online retailers. This way leaking or detachment doesn't occur. Bumping them and breaking tanks during cleaning is another story though!

The standpipe "assembly" is a length of standard 1" PVC pipe with a 1" slip X slip coupler and then a 1" strainer plugged into the end. If it is necessary to remove the standpipe, the bulkhead nut is unscrewed and the whole assembly can be taken out of the (drained) tank. I am not sure what the metric size equivalent or availability is, but I would imagine that any similarly-sized pipe and fittings should work fine. We cut the end off of the strainer to allow for "emergency overflow" in-case water flow was increased or the strainers became clogged; it also allows for a higher water level when using glass lids, as we do. This system has worked well to prevent floods.

I hope this answers your questions !

Sorry, I must be really thick.
To drain a filled tank, do you not just remove the standpipe from the thru tank Bulkhead?
Is the stand pipe threaded into the bulkhead and the just unthreaded to remove for draining {emptying} or is the standpipe just pushed into the bulkhead? { without gluing?}
If the standpipe is glued into the bulkhead, how do you drain the tank?

The standpipe is glued into the bulkhead and cannot be removed without removing the bulkhead (by unscrewing the bulkhead nut on the bottom of the tank). None of the parts on the standpipe are threaded. To drain a tank, it is siphoned with a hose. We have a system of pumps to make this easy (no more lifting buckets!), the siphoned water is pumped down the drain. This way instead of the "dirty" water re-entering the system, the water is discarded and the tank is filled with new/fresh seawater and a new batch of larval fish :)

The tanks are scrubbed/wiped clean between batches, and although sometimes it is easier to clean them while on the stand, the tanks can also be removed from the frame for scrubbing at a sink (it seems to be personal preference really, some people here remove each tank for cleaning, some clean them all in-place...)
