Sounds pretty normal. Some carpets, can't remember if their the gigantea or haddoni are know fish eaters. Heck I've seen carpets eat full grown atlantic blue tangs with ease. Carpets have been know to eat clowns. Carpets are especially sticky and it may take your clown some time to adjust and even host that carpet if it ever does. It is up to the clown weather they host or not. Seeing the first experience of the clown with the carpet I can't imagine it would host anytime soon. But stranger things have happened.
Got any pics of the anem, so we can help you ID it?
